"Super Math Attack" - an Educational Game

Concept Design

My game is a digital game that can be played on a computer or gaming console.

The core mechanic will be 2D platforming, similar to Super Mario.

The content will be elementary-level mathematics. Players will be able to select a grade level at the beginning of the game. The purpose of the game is to collect a certain number of items (math symbols) in each level to move on to the next level. When you find the items, you will need to answer math questions (multiple choice, written response, matching, etc.) correctly to obtain them. There is no time limit to answer the questions, but if you answer incorrectly, the item will spawn somewhere else in the level. After five levels, you will enter a "boss fight," during which your opponent will throw math problems at you. You will need to select the correct answers quickly to pass. This is to help build math fact fluency. Difficulty will increase as you reach higher levels.

Because the game will focus on K-6 mathematics, the core users will be school-aged children.
